About

I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and moved to Miami, Florida, at a young age. I graduated with a B.A. in political science from Northwestern University and spent some time working in Washington, D.C., before moving to New York City, where I earned my Ph.D. in political science from Columbia University.

In my spare time I enjoy books and solving puzzles. To stay active I love to hike and boulder. A few of my favorite hikes include the John Muir Trail in California (2018), the W trek in the Patagonia (2019), and Three Sisters in Oregon (2020).

I also love to play and watch (and read about and analyze) football (soccer): my Argentine father made me a die hard fan of the Albiceleste. On December 18, 2022, a dream of mine came true: I watched Argentina become world champions with my family.

My partner Sarah is a brilliant creative strategist and copywriter, and we live together with our dog, Ollie.
